It's always a daunting task to find a job, whether you're a new grad getting started or an experienced job seeker looking for a new opportunity. We make applying to our jobs simple; if you see an opportunity you're interested in use the contact form to submit your application.
If employers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist! It is important to keep your resume updated with your most recent job information, and list all key accomplishments such as new tools/programs used, training/education, etc.
Nothing can be more confusing to a potential employer than to see discrepancies between your online resume verses what they've received. Make sure all versions of your resume remains the same (social media, your website, hard copies, etc.)
Its' important not to lie or misrepresent yourself on your resume. Most often times if things don't add up or raise red flags for the hiring manager, you will lose your chance at the opportunity. Instead of fabricating what you don't have, it's preferred that you make a comparable reference to a transferable skill which would demonstrate a key requirement of the role being applied to.
Please regard the advice of your recruiter/hiring manager. All advice given should be taken into consideration to improving your resume.
Unfortunately there's no formula for getting an interview, however, keeping your resume updated, tailoring your resume for a specific job, or simply being proactive in your job search is paramount to you as a job seeker.
Resumes should flow and be easy to grasp by the reviewer within 30 seconds. Organize your information, use the correct terminologies, and ask for advice on your resume from a peer, mentor, or professional resume writer.
What better way to be prepared when a recruiter/hiring manager contacts you than to know which job you applied for because you had a log! Keep a daily log of the opportunities you've applied to for quick future reference.
Quite often job seekers rely solely on job boards waiting to be contacted. While this is the norm and it works some of the time, it's also complimentary to reach out to hiring managers and/or apply to job posts. It's very easy to feel overwhelmed or become discouraged, however, perseverance and patience will yield results.
Timeliness is key when applying for an opportunity, so response to your recruiter/hiring manager is very important as you're more than likely not the only candidate applying for the opportunity. Submitting your application before others is key for a greater chance of consideration.
